J.A. Essen in the house...

Since we can’t possibly let an author takeover without letting everyone know how very much we love and appreciate them MaRanda will be sharing her reviews and wanted to say a little something about J.A.


MaRanda –

So, once upon a time I heard of this author... he wrote about some elves... elves? So off to this far away land I went, where these elves... WERE FUCKING FANTASTIC!!! Who knew?? Right?? I mean, I LOVE Paranormal Romance, I do. I hadn't ever heard of elves, and let me tell you... it is PHENOMENAL!!

And that, my lovely friends is where it all started. I DEVOURED his book Perilous Love. I'm absolutely not exaggerating either. I read that book so fast (and we all know by now, MaRanda is not a fast reader... right???) and I skipped some sleep to finish that bad boy!

And that's where my obsession started... Uh, I mean, I became a really big fan. HAHAHAHAHA! Obsession might honestly be closer to the truth, but we'll just go with whatever you want to call it!
I feel like, and I know others can verify, that male authors aren't as easily accepted by the general public. (Or romance readers). I think sometimes male romance authors have to work a little harder, and J.A. is not an exception to the working harder category. He works HARD and it SHOWS! He takes you into lands where things make sense, flow and oh did I mention that they're HOT reads?? I didn't? What the hell is my problem??

Full disclosure: You might read these books one handed. Just saying!
All of the praise and feather fluffing aside... J.A. is super down to earth, HILARIOUS (check out the banter between him and his wife, Marie James on Facebook, it's beyond hilarious), and I am forever a fan. He's amazing, he's smart and I am proud to call him my friend.

I don't have a giant circle of friends, but it's a good circle. Mr. Essen, you are AMAZING! (And part of said circle). Thank you for trusting us with your words, your inner voices... your stories!!!

Macy is a fairly uncomplicated chick. She's laid back, keeps busy, loves to run... By the fire station *wink wink*

Seth, is a little more complicated (read it to find out why hahaha). He's HOT, so HOT! And in prime physical condition...

He's outside exercising, Macy runs by to catch a glimpse, possibly catch his eye... It just flows from there. The flow of this story is nothing short of amazing with epic sex. That's important in a hot read, right??

THE ENDING... Thank you, J.A.!! I can honestly say I can't wait for the next book in this series!!

This was my first elf story and my first J.A. Essen story. I'm blown away on both accounts.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but fell in love with this story. I hope we get more of these characters in another story. A continuation of Edana and Faudron or other characters in the story.

Edana is a princess in the elven kingdom. Faudron is a human hunter. I always say how much I hate spoilers, so I won't give you any.

I'm not spoiling anything by telling you, however, that this story is full of suspense, action... Oh and did I mention it has epic sex scenes? So HOT!

 I truly think that even if you don't think fantasy is your genre, you should read this! It's that good!
