Round 2! Thursd…Er.. Friday
Review!
We are a day late on our reviews, but please forgive us! School started
this week, we have kids in sports, husbands with crazy work hours, etc.. We’ve
barely had any time to breathe, let alone read and write. Anyway, we’re here
now. J
We are continuing with the theme of Mile High Author Event
attending authors for our reviews today. MaRanda has chosen Raw by Belle Aurora
and I have chosen Seduction & Snacks by Tara Sivec (queue fangirl dance…).
MaRanda – RAW by Belle Aurora
I dislike reviews with spoilers. So all I can say is that this
was an amazing book. I feel a little shaken now that I’ve finished it! I want a
sequel!
I had to process this, that paragraph was about a coherent as I
could be for a long time. Raw, left me Raw!! Seriously. I couldn’t get into a
book for two weeks. That’s a FOREVER amount of time for me.
And you think…A book about a stalker left you raw? How? I
honestly cannot explain without telling you spoilers. So... Please, please read
Twitch. He is F’ING FANTASTIC! I can tell you enough, go, read!
Steph – Seduction & Snacks by
Tara Sivec
**Warning** If you lack a sense of humor, or words like cunt, bitch,
whore, fuck.. offend you…Please do not read this book. It is jam packed with
badinage, hilarious explanations/narrations, and ridiculously awesome ridiculousness.
Now, I’m very Type A, so I’m extremely analytical and I love
organization and lists. When I’m reading I use every single one of my
highlighter colors on my e-reader. I categorize into things that make me laugh
or that I really like (pink), things I have questions about or that I’ve made
notes on (blue), general notes (yellow), and mistakes (mistakes). My copy of
Seduction & Snacks is just plastered in pink highlighter! (I kind of think,
like a lot, that we should be best friends. *Hint, hint* (I promised MaRanda we
could share, but fuck, I’m not sure I want to keep that promise anymore). This
book will keep you laughing from the first page until the last. This was a nice
change in the books I’m used to reading. My typical book has lots of drama,
angst, and sappy parts (that’s my jam!).
I digress..
Claire is attending the University of Ohio and her friend Liz talks
her into going to a party at a frat house on campus. Claire is out of her
element, but she has become determined to lose her virginity at the party to “just
get it over with.”
She ends up meeting a handsome young man that she assumes is a
friend or member of someone in the frat. They hit it off from the beginning and
end up talking and playing beer pong for hours. Towards the end of the night
they end up upstairs in a random room together and Claire gets her wish.
She panics the next morning and leaves before he wakes up. Never
asking his name or getting his phone number!
Claire ends up with a parting gift from their night together and not
of the venereal kind. Her, her friends, and her father spend years trying to find
the mystery boy she gave a piece of herself to, but come up empty handed. She finally
gives up hope that they will ever find him until one fateful night changes
everything.
To find out if she ever tells him her secret she’s been keeping for
5 years, you’ll have to read it for yourself. I’ve said too much already. But
seriously, this book is absolutely hilarious, witty, with just the right amount
of sex and awkwardness to make it a 5 star read. This is the first book of 3 in
the Chocolate Lovers Series. She also has Futures & Frosting and Troubles
& Treats.
