Sometimes... there's something so powerful it brings people together. Sometimes that something is someone. I realize this is going to sound totally biased, because it is. And I won't apologize, so don't ask me to 😉

For me (and a lot of lucky Whores) that someone, is Marie James. A love for her books, because why wouldn't you love them?!?! A love for these books, brought a little group of gals together. And that group? They're some of my very favorite people.

Now I know, we need to talk about Marie's books, we are a book blog. But I truly think in order to get to the heart of that, I need to share the heart of why Marie is so amazing.

Tired of my words yet? I'm still not sorry!

Marie started off as just some cool chick (she's still cool, I swear!!) that could write a BAD ASS book! And OMG, did I just read that one handed? Why yes, I just might have! Hahaha! Her books are so phenomenal. The indie book community has to be the best. (IMO) You get to interact with fans who feel like you do. They love the characters like you do. And Marie, she brought us all together. So... for forever (or until I finally annoy the ever loving shit out of her) she will remain my FAVORITE. I profess my undying (can I do that?) love for you! THANK YOU for writing. And thank you for taking your time for your fans. THANK YOU!!

I haven’t had the pleasure of knowing Marie as long as MaRanda has, but I can say, without a shadow (See what I did there?) of a doubt, that I am beyond grateful, every day, for being brought into this little world.

The first ARC I ever had the privilege to read was Kid. I couldn’t wrap my mind around the idea of an author letting me have their book early and all I had to do was tell the world how much I loved it. It was the coolest thing I had ever experienced. So thank you, Marie. I will never forget that.

MaRanda had mentioned to Marie that I hadn’t read Kincaid or SINdicate and shortly after I discovered them on my Kindle, ready to be devoured. And devour them I did!

Marie writes in such a way that she makes reading her work effortless. Page after page flow flawlessly and mold into an amazing story. Every. Single. Time.

I had mentioned yesterday that I have a short list of authors that have changed the way I see all other books. Marie was on that list. I know that if I’m picking up a Marie James original, I won’t be disappointed and I won’t be doing much else that day.

Now that we got all of the sappy shit out of the way let’s get to the real reason we’re here. Kegan Cole... Oh. My. GAWD!

This starts off a little down the road from Kadin and London's story. Kadin "gets" to drop his nieces off at school... cue Lexi Carter, kindergarten teacher!

Of course you see how hot they both are, because let’s face it, this is Marie James here, she writes stories that pull you in.

Kegan is a player, or is he? ;) Lexi is a troubled woman, so to speak. You read their stories and you know your heart aches for them, but you also want to know... Kegan, are you really a Vagitarian? Hahaha!! But seriously, their stories are truly moving and you can't help but relate to them.

This story, it surprised me. It was NOT typical. And one of my very favorite things about Marie's stories, is her constant ability to surprise me! Especially the last 30%. I just didn't know what to expect.

Bravo Ms. James. Another 5 star, brilliant and HOT story!!

Steph – Teach Me Like That

When reading a book by Marie James you know there is going to be a couple of things: Hot guys, even hotter sex, love, and a little heartache. This book lacks none of those things.

Kegan Cole is your typical player. Irresistable to all women. That is, until Lexi Carter appears.

Kegan meets Lexi when he drops off Anastyn & Lennox (Kadin and London’s girls). She just so happens to be the girls’ kindergarten teacher.

He immediately decides that he has to have her. He’s taken aback when she turns him down. And then she turns him down again and again… You get the point.

This only makes him even more determined to conquer her, but does he end up with more than he bargained for?

This book includes a slight twist in the balance of the typical dynamic that is fuck buddy to relationship. You won’t be expecting this to happen, but it is a welcome surprise.

There was a point I wanted to slap them both, but what would a Marie James book be without wanting to physically assault and hug the characters in the same chapter??

I give this beautiful edition to the MJ library 5 stars! Pick it up in less than 8 short days!
