We
had a slight
break in posts lately. Our sincerest apologies. Life got slightly crazy. We are
both busy moms with husbands that have crazy work schedules. We vow to do
better!
But we are BACK and we wanted to take a break from Mile High
attending authors and spotlight some of the amazing books we’ve been gifted by
even more amazing authors. Some were ARCs. Some were just gifted out of the
kindness of their dirty little hearts. We appreciate all of the love we’ve
received.
I will be reviewing Home Run Baby by Tabatha Kiss, Draw Play by
Tia Lewis, & Reckless by Winter Renshaw.
MaRanda will be reviewing When Sparks Fly by JA Essen &
The Matriarch by Sloane Howell.
I haven’t gotten a chance to read The Matriarch yet, but I am
looking forward to it. Superheroes and sex?? A nerd’s wet dream. I mean, come
on, two of my favorite shows are The
Flash & Arrow. When Sparks Fly has gotten some steamy reviews, too. I need
more hours in the day!!

A hot, steamy read anyone? Sparks really do fly in this book.
WHOA!
Macy is a fairly uncomplicated chick. She’s laid back, keeps
busy, loves to run… By the fire station *wink wink*.
Seth, is a little more complicated (You’ll have to read it to
find out why! Hahah). He’s HOT!, so HOT! And in prime physical condition…
He’s outside exercising, Macy runs by to catch a glimpse,
possibly catch his eye… It just flows from there. The flow of this story is
nothing short of amazing with epic sex. That’s important in a hot read, right??
THE ENDING… Thank you, J.A.!! I can honestly I can’t wait for
the next book in this series!!

I am thoroughly blown away.
I started this book simply because I saw the author’s name on
Twitter. I genuinely had zero clues about what I would be reading.
Wow!
I desperately do not want to give spoilers. Because so many
powerful plot pieces would be spoiled, I am not even sure how to put my
thoughts into words on this one. I’m beyond impressed. I absolutely can’t wait
now for books two and three. The way of thinking it had to take to create this
imaginary world, BRILLIANT!!! I’m an instant fan. (I need to process in order
to write a better review. My apologies, I feel like my mind was just blown!!)

As I was mapping out what to say about this book I realized that
NOTHING I say will ever do it justice.
You have to read it to experience the magic to its full
potential. I can honestly say this is one of the best, well written books I
have ever read.
The sexy parts are HOT! Some of the hottest scenes of the YEAR!
It is in my Top 3 for the YEAR!
I am absolutely blown away! I am also hard-pressed to believe
that this is her debut book. I am so
incredibly excited for what is to come
from this girl. I can hardly contain myself. Do yourself a huge favor and GET
THIS BOOK! I would give this 6 freaking stars, and I tried, oh I tried!!
You will have to fight the urge to shout from the rooftops how
amazing it is (or just don't fight it)!!

In a world full of sports romance you have to try hard to stand
out. Home Run Baby, hit it out of the park. Pun intended.
This light-hearted baseball romance will keep you reading and
wanting more until the very end.
The sex scenes were lacking a little bit for me. They seemed
slightly immature for my taste.
The plot however, is what really gives this book its allure. It
is unique to any other sports romance I've read thus far, and I commend the
author for being able to achieve this. 4 stars well deserved.

I feel like it’s no secret by now, but I fangirl hard for
Winter. She is in my Top 5 favorite authors of all time. I’ve read almost every
single book that she’s written. Winter is crack!!
When I received my first ARC from her I think my heart literally
stopped beating for a few seconds. I was so excited I could barely breathe.
She has a way of telling a tale that just flows so well and
pulls you in from page one until the very end of all of her stories.
They all have that slow burn quality to them.. And they always
have a TWIST.
Reckless is the story of Dante Amato and Maren Greene. We met
Dante in Heartless (seriously get this freaking book!)
Maren is a recently divorced mom of 2 boys. She was at a swanky
bar celebrating her divorce with friends when she spotted the very handsome,
very sexy Dante Amato drinking alone at the bar.
She didn’t want to approach him, because she thought he was too
young for her. She’s 35, he’s 27. Not that bad. (OMG, I’m 27…)
She had lost the courage to approach, but her best friend,
looking out for the interests of her vagina, no less, gives him her number
before she leaves that night.
They’re both only hoping for a casual encounter, but will it
stay that way? For the answer to that question get your hands on this book!
The only small complaint I have is I wish there was a little
MORE. I wish there was a bit more character development or maybe I was just
disappointed with the amount of turmoil and angst. I’m a sucker for angst and
turmoil. I feel like it’s a problem I have. I’m a glutton for punishment.
Anyways, I would still give this like 4.7 out of 5.
